16. Reorganize the kitchen cabinets.
My cabinets are in a serious state of disarray, and I would really like to organize and find a place for everything. I've already started on this one, but there is still some work to be done. Would it be really anal of me to start labeling shelves and drawers?
17. Finish the yard (put up a fence and expand the vegetable garden).
The fence has been put on hold, as we're not going to spend the time and energy putting one up for our non-existent dog, but we're still planning on expanding the vegetable garden this summer. Last year was out first year growing vegetables and, with the exception of the spinach, it was a huge success. We've decided to try making our own salsa this year, so we'll be growing tomatoes and peppers, as well as, some herbs, spinach, arugula, beans, and green onions.
18. Reorganize all the closets.
When we moved in, we just sort of put stuff where ever there was room and promptly forgot about it. Why beach towels got put in the office closet is beyond me, but I will clean out the closets and find proper places for all of our junk.
19. Clean out the file cabinet every spring.
While it's important to keep important papers, bills, and receipts, it is not important to keep them for forever. Therefore, every year after we do our taxes, we will be purging the file cabinets of all of the unnecessary items.
20. Empty entire fridge and clean it once a month
There's not to much to explain here, besides the fact that I just want to make sure old leftovers don't mutate into new leftovers and that spills get wiped up frequently so funky smells don't waft out every time you open the door to get the milk.
21. Get new blinds/curtains for the master bedroom.
I hate the curtains in our bedroom. They are the standard slat blinds that are extremely ugly and impossibly difficult to clean. I would love to get some nice Roman shades to spruce up the bedroom.
22. Clean and reorganize the storage room in the basement.
You can read about this item here.
23. Clean and organize the garage.
Our garage is a hodge podge of our stuff, and stuff the previous owners left behind. It serves as the place we park our cars, Andrew's workshop, and storage for all of the things we need for the yard. And, while it will probably never look like, say, this garage, it could definitely benefit from a little organization.
24. Organize the laundry room.
Our laundry room serves as, well, the Laundry room, but it's also the cats area, a workshop, and where we store our bikes. the main problem area is the workbench, where tools are scattered everywhere.
25. Hang a clothesline in the backyard.
Economical. Very economical. Why run the dryer 12 months out of the year when mother nature can take care of it for at least 5 of those?
